Eric is the founder & President of Generation Why, Inc.; a training and consulting firm helping leading companies and organizations recruit, train, manage, motivate, and retain the very best of this new generation. He is the author of the two best-selling books on this topic: EMPLOYING GENERATION WHY - Understanding, Managing, and Motivating Your New Workforce (Tucker House Books, 2002) and GETTING THEM TO GIVE A DAMN – How to Get Your Front Line to Care About Your Bottom Line” (Kaplan 2005).

Married with four Gen Why children aged 22 to 27, Eric lives in Golden, Colorado.
Michelle leads a multi-generational team tasked with enabling Marriott’s relationship with its Marriott Reward® elite members across multiple channels around the world.
She has traveled the world as a speaker and educator on a wide range of topics including Generation Wise, and her work in this area has been cited in publications including Fast Company and Convene.
A cross-over between Boomers and X, Michelle has spent the last 20+ years holding various field and corporate positions in sales and marketing at Marriott – both working for, and managing – Matures, Boomers, Gen X and Gen Ys. She also gets on-the-job training and customized instruction from her Gen Y daughter.
Mark and his team are responsible for hiring over 700 sales professionals for Valpak every year. Mark is a keynote speaker on college campuses across the country promoting career-pathing for new entrepreneurs and sales executives. He has lead workshops with several national college associations on launching your career for young professionals.
He is on the Board of Governors for the International Franchise Association’s Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) program and is on the Board of the Trustees for IFA’s Educational Foundation. He also serves on the National Advisory Board of DECA/DEX and is on the University of South Florida’s Marketing Department Advisory Council.
Prior to joining Valpak, Mark’s career has taken him through the franchise world as a manager, salesman and recruiter.
Mark Liston is widely known for his Valpakmark blog. He has 3 Gen Xers and 3 post Gen-Y grandsons. Mark and his wife, Mary Kay, live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.
Jim Knight is the Sr. Director of Training & Development for Hard Rock International.
As head of The School of Hard Rocks, he supports all facets of education in 150+ locations in 47 countries, which includes cafes, hotels, casinos, live music venues and music parks. This includes company programs, print materials, DVD production, instructor-led classes, e-learning initiatives and traveling to units to deliver on-site classes & measure standards.
Jim has positioned his department as a revenue-generating source, via his speaking engagements on brand, culture and service-oriented topics to a wide variety of industries. He is a 17-year employee with Hard Rock and also an active 11-year member of CHART (Council of Hotel & Restaurant Trainers).
Jim is a native Central Floridian, where he taught in the Florida public school system to middle school & future Gen-WHY employees. Still residing in Orlando with his family, his greatest training role is that of father to two post-Gen Why twin daughters, age 9.TJ Schier is the founder and president of p.o.d.Training. The company provides unique training solutions for today’s generation delivered in portable devices. Clients range from restaurant, retail and hotels and include a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Winner. In addition, TJ speaks and consults in the areas of guest service and motivating today’s generation. He is the author of ‘Send Flowers to the Living! Rewards, Contests and Incentives to Build Employee Loyalty’ and 2 books on guest service. He has authored over 100 articles on guest service and training today’s frontline employees and speaks dozens of times annually around North America. In addition, he owns multiple Which Wich Superior Sandwiches locations as ‘social labs’ to test out his latest theories and ideas.
TJ resides with his family in the Dallas-Ft Worth area.
